The most basic processes of mold making

2024-01-23

Today I will mainly share with you some processes in mold processing, mainly introducing the following five processes.

1. Mold design

Before making the mold, mold design needs to be carried out. This step is usually done by a dedicated designer. Designers design according to the customer's requirements in combination with product usage, size, shape, etc., and use computer-aided design software (such as CAD) to draw models.

2. Making mold parts

Mold parts are the basic units that constitute the mold, including mold cores, templates, moving plates, etc. These parts need to be manufactured and processed according to the design drawings. CNC machine tools are usually used for processing to ensure processing accuracy and quality.

3. Assemble the mold

After the mold parts are manufactured, they need to be assembled according to the final design drawings. This step is usually done by a technician. They use a variety of tools and equipment to ensure the accuracy and integrity of mold assembly.

4. Debugging the mold

After the mold assembly is completed, debugging is required. The purpose of debugging is to check the feasibility of the mold to ensure that it can operate normally and meet the needs of product production. During the debugging process, the structure, fit accuracy, temperature control, etc. of the mold need to be inspected to ensure the quality and stability of the mold.

5. Production and molding

After the mold debugging is completed, production can begin. The forming process of the material is usually carried out using a forming machine. The molten material is injected into the mold and cooled to form the desired product. In this process, it is necessary to ensure accurate control of parameters such as temperature and pressure to ensure product quality and stability.
